An exceptional inn
There is something about a place that people have been coming to visit for more than 120 years. Especially one where most have spent their time not because they had to, but because they wanted so. And because they wanted to have a good time.
Every person before you, simply by being here has left some small trace behind.
Traces of those who enjoyed Furuhem over the years can be seen and felt everywhere.
A splash of red wine spilled today on a varnished floor, swiftly mopped and leaving only the faintest outline, over another faintest outline of another stain integrated in the very surface of the floor. Perhaps it became part of the house last week, perhaps 70 years ago? Who knows?
A scratch upon another scratch upon a third scratch on that corner at the head of the staircase that you just cant avoid brushing against when you walked past. A few molecules of linseed oil paint shaved off by the toggle of a jacket.
It’s all fine, it has happened before, and it will happen again. Surely, hopefully.
The signature of one more contributor to the canvas that is Furuhem.
The inn is a living thing, and it is our job. Us who work here, and you who come here to stay.
To fill this place with joy and at the same time to care for it.
We don’t offer most of the ordinary trimmings considered ”luxury” in hotels. There is no minibar in your room with hipster snacks and ditto beer. No TV, no giant bathroom and no talking toilet from Japan.
We offer 15 double rooms in an exceptional house that people have been coming to in search of a good time since longer back than any of us have been alive. Rooms that are simple but not simplistic.
