A perfectly ordinary restaurant

The very best dill one can grow is a variety that is simply called ”Vanlig”, ordinary in Swedish. A fine harvest of leaves, just enough flowers that ripen at just the right time to perfume your yearly crayfish boil with precisely the right aroma. ”Vanlig” is in no way anything more than any other variety of dill. It is not greener, not more aromatic, and it doesn’t have a cool shape to its leaves or a distinctly special appearance of its flowers. It is just ordinary, but very good. And year after year ”Vanlig” delivers without much fanfare and without requiring much adaptation to its place of growth, exactly what that place and those who live there need.

That is sort of how we see our restaurant. Ordinary, in the best possible way and fully integrated into its local community.

Much of what we serve comes from producers close to us that we know and like, some comes from our own orchard and gardens in Axelstorp outside of Båstad.

Bakery

Your daily bread baked by us from the very best grains that one can buy. Loaves, buns, sandwiches and other items of “fika” to eat here or to take home.

Lunch

A shorter à la carte menu with some dishes from the evening menu and some that we serve only for lunch. We do no accept reservations for lunch so please just drop by.

Dinner

In the evening you choose what to eat from our full à la carte menu, it is a good idea to book a table in advance but perfectly fine to drop by and ask for a spot too. You are welcome here both to enjoy a single dish when you are not in the mood for cooking at home, or for a bigger meal.

Aside of our main dining room we offer a private dining room on the first floor seating fourteen.
